Nomaphila aquatica (Hygrophila aquatica)
This seems to be one of the slower growing Hygrophila species with very dark green glossy leaves. It also needs bright light and good nutrient rich substrate to grow well. Its is propagated the same as the other species using cuttings. It is a good dense growing backdrop for new aquariums.
Habitat
This is an aquatic emergent plant. It has very high moisture needs; suitable for bogs and water gardens. The plant naturally grows as an emergent, but it can survive long periods fully submerged
